Divanhane Building Survey, Restitution, and Restoration Projects
The Divanhane Building, located in İstanbul, has been situated in the Kasımpaşa neighborhood to the north of the Golden Horn, where the Ottoman Navy has been constructed and managed since the conquest of Istanbul. The building, which was last used as the Northern Naval Zone Command, was constructed by the Balyan family in the 1860s and was used as the 5th Divanhane Building, also known as the Naval Ministry Building, in the same location. Next to this building, there is also a Police Station Building. Survey, restitution, and restoration projects have been prepared for these structures and have been approved by the Istanbul 2nd Regional Board for the Protection of Cultural Assets and the Presidency of the National Palaces Directorate of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey. During the challenging 2-year restoration process, the contracting company provided the employer with implementation consultancy services.
